We had a lot of fun with "Minute to Win it Friday!" Balancing 6 dice on a Popsicle stick is a lot harder than we all thought!! A few people made it to 4, and a couple even made it to 5. I think my highest was only 3!! I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer. It was a beautiful one that my family and I enjoyed together! Now I am ready to get back into the routine of school though. I have been working on my room and getting it ready to greet my new group of 4th graders. I hope to see you all at open house on September 2nd! If you can't make it, I'll see you on the first day of school!
We will begin changing into costumes at 1:45 on Thursday, October 30th. The parade will begin at 2:00 and then we will return to the classroom afterward for our party. Thanks to Mrs. LaVoy and Mrs. Gorney for organizing the festivities. Also thanks to LaVoy Farms for donating pumpkins for the students. We will have a fantastic day!! All are welcome to join in the fun and games. :)
I can't believe it is already time for conferences, this year is flying by!! If you signed up for a conference time, then a reminder was sent home on Thursday. Please check the date and time to make sure it still works and then send the bottom portion of the slip back to me. If it doesn't work, please contact the office or me and we will find a time that does work. If you did not receive a slip stating the conference time, please contact me or the office to set one up that is convenient for you. We have shortened times this year; Thursday, November, 6th from 4-8 and Friday, November, 7th from 1-5. If these days and times do not work for you, please let me know and we can find something that does work. I'm looking forward to meeting with everyone and sharing the progress that I have seen already this year. See you soon!
We have a math test tomorrow on unit 2. We played a game today to review the median, range, and mode of a set of numbers. If you need another study guide you can find a link to one on the math page.
Picture day will now be held Monday, October 6th. You can still order online at mylifetouch.com with the picture day id of: LM654209Y0. If you don't want to order online and would like another order form, please let me know. We have some extra in the office.
Have a great day! Happy Fog Day! I hope all the children are enjoying the random day off from school. I do not know when picture day will be rescheduled for yet, but I will let you know as soon as I know. Also, the book orders that were due today, I will of course still accept on Monday. There are some great ones on scholastic.com if you don't see anything in the flyer that catches your eye. My boys have already made quite the wish list for themselves, now I just have to decide which ones to buy now and which ones to save for a later date. :)
I have to apologize for the lack of papers that came home in yesterday's Thursday folder. The week got away from me quickly! So, I am spending the free time today getting caught up on grading. The science tests are done and those grades are on HAC to see. I was going to show the students the tests today, but I will do that on Monday. They all did a great job on the test! Next week the Thursday folders will have lots of papers in them to look through. Thanks for your understanding while I have been gone this week. My son is now doing much better and things should now return to normal. Have a fantastic weekend!! Our first science test will be Thursday. We played a review game which seemed to go very well for both classes today. Mrs. House gave both essays, along with the answers, out on Monday when she was here. If you need another copy you can find the link below. Spelling test Friday. ![]()
We have been learning how to use a compass to draw circles this week. We have found some fun things to do with circles and cool designs to make. Check them out below. Once the designs are colored, they are easier to see in the pictures. :)
